Who is Tony?

Tony has been with Kellyco over seven years. Having a highly technical background and being expert in electronics made Tony a natural for metal detectors. He immediately became an enthusiastic treasure hunter and with his skills in electronics was able to master each and every detector very quickly earning him a rating of Certified Metal Detector Expert. Tony continues to use and test much of the new equipment that Kellyco offers for sale.  He is also Kellyco's new products and senior sales consultant.

Minelab Excalibur 1000
I am an avid metal detectorist and have been for almost 8 years now. One thing that I have found out testing various detectors over the years is that many of them are very good in some areas and in other areas they don’t perform so well. The most distinct difference in Florida is the saltwater beaches. You can use any detector in the dry sand but only very few work well in the wet sand or at the waters edge.

The Excalibur is the very best that I have ever used in this area. The depth is simply out of this world! I have dug single coins at depths of up to 18 inches! The Excalibur is also very stable and smooth on the salt beach. It is not the least bit erratic or unstable ever. You have the advantage of the Minelab’s unique iron mask technology also. This gives you the ability to eliminate most small iron such as small nails and other pieces of small iron without losing any depth. This is a very important feature considering all of the hurricanes that we have had over the last few years and all of the house and condo debris on the beaches.

The Excalibur’s 17 frequency BBS technology assures me that im not leaving anything behind! Having all of those frequencies working for you all of the time will result in greats finds all the time. I have found numerous gold and silver jewelry items and silver coins that were just too deep for the average detector to recover. I always use the optional aluminum balanced shaft assembly on my Excalibur to reduce fatigue so that I can hunt longer and find more!

To sum up the Excalibur 1000, I would say that it’s just about the perfect detector for use on land and beaches with one detector!
