Fisher F2 Metal Detector
If it's in the Ground or in the Water a Fisher Metal Detector Will Find it!
The Fisher F2 features a large control panel with seven big push buttons and an equally big display. The control panel is very simple to operate, making this an excellent detector for beginners.
On the control housing you will see both a two (2) digit display and a target category readout on the top showing items from iron/foil to nickels, to dimes, quarters, etc. An arrow will illuminate under the target category and a two digit number will show specific target value that helps you identify your target. Anyone can pick up the Fisher F2 and start detecting right away.
The F2 features “Notch Discrimination” which allows the user to pinpoint an item and prevent the detector from detecting it again (great for those pesky pull tabs). It has an “All Metals” mode which is great for scanning parks, beaches and old home sites for coins and jewelry while still ignoring old scrap iron. Meanwhile, Depth Readout will tell you exactly how deep to dig for the target.
The sensitivity of the F2 has earned rave reviews from first time users and experienced detectorists. It has found items as deep as 10” in various soil types with medium sensitivity. Meanwhile the Pinpointing feature allows you to hone in on specific items.
The light weight of the Fisher F2 combined with the adjustable arm cuff will keep you hunting for hours! The Headphone jack is conveniently located on the bottom of the unit and is weather protected to stay safe in various hunting conditions.

I bought this metal detector because I need one that is light in weight due to tendinitis in my wrists. After comparing this unit with other detectors in the same price range, I felt it offered more than the others. I like the notch discrimination and the 4 tone audio ID and the visual ID is something I will not do without. It was easy to assemble and operate and a beginner should have no problems with it. I've taken it out 3 times already and found a large number of coins some of which were in the 5 inch (measured) depth range. Each time a coin was detected the meter was 100% accurate. Pinpointing with this machine is VERY accurate and easy to accomplish. The package included a 4 inch coil and a pinpointer from Fisher along with other items added in by Kellyco. It's a fantastic deal and I highly recommend this detector for both a novice and a seasoned vet.
Fisher F2 is a Reliable Machine

It's a Turn On and Go unit. One of the first things I did was make a copy of that number chart that tells what the detected item is. Cut it, then laminated it and taped it to the top of the control box. When I get a signal and a number, a glance at the chart that tells me if its trash or treasure. That small coil is the best for hunting areas with a lot of trash. Fishers are known for finding deep targets and are one of the few that can zero in on gold chains on sandy beaches. You can swing it all day without wearing out your arm. If inclement weather is a problem then enclose it with a big zip-lock food bag. Works just as good as the fancy ones. And remember to fill your holes and dispose of found trash properly.
Fisher F2 Way Better than Garrett Ace 250
Review by Bob B on December 30, 2013
I purchased a Garrett Ace 250 and had it a month. It would not locate a quarter or a nickel, but did pick up a knife and set of keys. I sold the Garrett and bought a Fisher F2. Best decision I have made in a long time. I purchased a Fisher F2 from a local dealer and got the package one for $199.00. I tried the same on my carpeted garage floor. It pinpointed a quarter, nickel, penny, knife and set of keys. I love the F2 and all the features. Particularly the notch as it allows you to discriminate out iron and pull tabs and yet keep the nickel on treasure hunting. I mainly detect for coins only. This F2 is an extra fine machine and at seventy years old I find I really enjoy this much better than other machines. Very happy.

I purchased this machine and it was delivered today. This was a machine I looked at pretty hard as a starter machine for my better half. She has never detected and I wanted to get her something that was easy to use, and very effective. I made the mistake many years ago, and bought a really bad metal detector, to save money, and ended up using it twice. So with knowing this, I looked at a few machines and decided on this one, based on the reviews listed here. So anyways, day one, I ran into the UPS guy, and got him to give the machine to me, ran home and set it up for her. We finally got a chance to hit a school not too far away. I set the discrimination to eliminate iron, so she would learn how to use the sound signals, and off she went. I started detecting and looked over, she was digging, and filling holes, and digging and filling holes. I was concerned she was having an issue pinpointing, but she had just found about five or six pennies in a square foot LOL. By the end of our hunt, it was dark and she was still swinging it like crazy, hooked as we all are. She found a very nice ring, silver, with a pink stone, and surrounded with diamonds. Long story short, for very little money, this machine just makes sense. Low cost, easy to use, reliable brand and name, lightweight and performs like a champ.

The F2 is simple to use and tunes very well. I love the 4" coil as it is very sensitive even on the lowest sensitivity, it picked up my digger 10 inches away. I mostly coin shoot and used the best of the best and nothing can touch this little goodie for the money. I found 4 clad quarters at around 6 inches in less that 10 minutes. I'll use this machine as my primary machine from now on. The only drawback for me is that I think the detector looks very cheap, however it makes up for it with it's great performance. I would highly recommend this machine not only for the amateur but also the expert. The price cannot be beat.
