Tesoro Compadre Metal Detector
with 8" Concentric Search Coil and Lifetime Warranty Plus FREE Metal Detector Shipping
The Compadre has it all. One knob simplicity for the beginner and high gain circuitry and the famous Tesoro ED-180 discrimination for the advanced user. If one detector can do all of this, maybe less is more. Now with an 8" round concentric coil, the Compadre can be used where you need more coverage and are hunting somewhat less trashy sites but still offers great discrimination.

I owned my Compadre for less than 2 weeks and it sniffed out a beautiful gold ring. The machine likes coins as well. For the price point you can't go wrong with this detector. It's a powerful little machine and gets good depth. Never mind the lifetime warranty! Highly recommended...
Compadre, WOW, WOW and WOW
Review by Donald B on February 10, 2015
This little thing is amazing. Quarter=61/2", Dime=6", Penny=61/2", .44 cal. Bullet=7" and a screw1"x1/4"=71/2" out of the box. The real good thing is you can raise and lower the coil and tell how deep to dig,THUMB the Discrimination and have a good idea of what is down there. All I can say is WOW. As good or better than detectors that cost hundreds more and is just plain simple. Thanks Kellyco.
A True Turn On and Go Machine
Review by Edward H on January 08, 2015
The Compadre is a very underrated machine. I own many top name brand detectors that range in price from $160.00 to over $4000.00. Of them all this is the best all around detector in my opinion. It is my favorite go to detector for parks, playgrounds or any other trashy areas. With the smaller coil I can get much closer to metal fences or play ground equipment than other hunters and many times find good targets they have missed. It is light and is well made. Treat mine pretty rough and it still works fine. I have had it for a few years now. It is perfect for travel or hiking when scoping out new areas to hunt. It is so simple to use and the discrimination is really accurate. And it is all controlled by one knob. It uses one 9 volt battery that seems to last forever. The built in speaker is very loud so you you can hunt with or without head phones. I would buy another. People see the little control box and think it's a toy or not very powerful. That is because Tesoro uses current technology. Look how powerful and compact today's cell phones are compared to to what they were only a few years ago. That's the way I see it. I must tell you I have not used it at a salt water beach but I have used it in mineralized soil. It handled the soil just fine. It also will detect a very small gold nugget in the all metal setting. No matter what skill level you are you can't go wrong with this one.
One Year on the Compadre
Review by Jeff M on December 04, 2014
This month is one year in on my Compadre. Got it right before Christmas in 2013 from Kellyco. The unit has found a load of stuff and continues to find more. So far the oldest verified object is an 1812 military uniform button. The oldest coin is an 1887 V nickel. Beyond that plenty of Indian Head pennies and silver coins too. All this my own yard and the property next door. Excellent little machine well worth the time to learn about and grow with. The more you use it the better you'll get at target ID before you even dig it. I hunt with friends who use more expensive units and the little Compadre holds it's own. The machine could not be much simpler unless it dug the target for you. If you buy one as a gift for a child buy one for yourself too, hunt together and enjoy the outdoors.

For so little.12khz and ed-180 disc makes it a good gold jewelry hunter and just all around good machine... I tweaked the ground pot on mine and now it will hit on chondrite meteorites, not many machines can do that... It still disc out iron but will pick up chondrites to very good depth... Lifetime warranty, winner.
