Bounty Hunter 1st Texas Pilot Metal Detector
Pilot is a Real Money Machine when it comes to Locating
Coins, from Small Dimes to Silver Dollars!
Kellyco is proud to introduce an all new addition to metal detecting – 1st Texas' Pilot metal detector with the new D-Tech 725 search coil. This new 1st Texas metal detector is a perfect mid-level machine that has the features of metal detectors costing hundreds of dollars more – it's built to "lead you to treasure!"
Very few detectors have an interchangeable search coil system, but the Pilot flies above the rest, providing more options than many other metal detectors in its price range. Each Pilot comes standard with a D-Tech 725 search coil that is highly sensitive to smaller treasures such as gold jewelry, diamond rings, and older coins, while still delivering deep search technology.
The 725 coil also boasts a hotter signal sent through the transmitter winding, which is guaranteed to give a clear signal even for coins buried on their edge! Plus, because the coil is completely waterproof, you can take this detector into the shallow surf and lake water! Other coil sizes are available in the accessory section of our website. Find small baby rings, wedding bands, ladies rings with precious stones and more!
Large, Easy-to-Read LCD Display Screen!
The Pilot features a large, easy-to-read LCD display screen to enhance your confidence while you're in the field; know when to dig and when to pass over those pesky pull-tabs! The internal micro-processor will continuously filter out unwanted trash targets, plus you have four discrimination segments that will digitally identify treasures such as gold, coins, silver, etc. Finding treasures could never be easier!
Pinpointing is a Snap!
Pinpointing is also a snap with the Pilot. No push buttons are in the way to be accidentally pushed – simply make an "X" pattern over the target you've detected and the built in pinpointer is Bull's Eye sharp, and will sound off! This allows you to find treasure quickly and easily.
No Headphones Needed!
No headphones are required with the built-in external loud speaker that features a three tone Audio Target Identification. A bass tone, mid-range tone and high tone will help you quickly know when to dig!
The best part of the 1st Texas Pilot is that it's built to last – let friends, family, and children borrow it: It's easy-to-use and can take anything! All stems are made from strong aircraft grade aluminum and the arm-rest is padded for comfort. With a five year warranty your concerns just disappear.

I don't know a thing about metal detectors and still don't! (The manual was not in the box). But I've already figured out all the functions. It's pretty simple. My daughter and I went to the creek by our house and dug for hours. We found a knife, some coins, and a chunk of aluminum, which I thought was silver! I had so much fun. I even had a dream about it! I would recommend this detector to any novice who has ever wanted to give this hobby a try. I wish I had started sooner. Now, I have to join a local metal detecting club so I can learn what the heck I'm doing... Craig.

I received my detector in a well packaged box. It had easy common sense assembly. After loading batteries which you must supply, I turned it on and all the instructions I read came out loud and clear. The detector found and pin pointed with ease. I must admit that I used mine detectors in Vietnam and had success there also. Now off to the beach, thanks.

The Bounty Hunter Pilot is an excellent detector for the price. I could have paid hundreds more for the same features and performance. I gave it an extended test in a gold bearing creek on New Zealand's West Coast, even with the coil under water there were no false signals and I found a needle thin piece so small it took two of us minutes to spot even though the Pilot gave a strong signal... impressive! The only small problem I encountered was the cable brushing on wet vegetation sometimes caused a phantom tone... I solved this by drilling a hole at the coil end and top of the plastic section and shaft feeding the cable inside. I replaced the cable plug where it goes into the control box with a screw lock microphone one (I'm an electronics tech, and yes I probably voided the warranty!) at the same time because it would pull out quite easily.
Searching the Ghost Town next to the creek was a breeze with the 3 different tones for different metals and target ID making things so easy compared with older detectors I have owned. If I got sick of the Iron tone, simply switching to Discriminate Level 1 made a quite peaceful search in some beautiful country. I got a tone every time there was a good target. I used it at full sensitivity and was getting good depth which equated well to the size of the coil. I never had to use Discriminate 2 or 3 and found coins came on ID as coins and aluminum rings or cans came on as Al, again impressive! It is very lightweight, adjusted to my over 6 foot no problems and no sore backs or arms at the end of the day. I would have paid a few dollars more for a volume control but that's a minor gripe. Also, being a tech, I would liked to have had some more technical stuff in the instruction manual but for the majority of users it was fine. Switch on and go... no fuss... no more spending most of my time turning knobs and worrying about settings... it’s the easiest and most fun I've had in ages with a detector!

On my first day out with my metal detector, I found almost six dollars in change from one playground and only three pieces of trash. It was very simple to use. I just turned it on and hunted.

Received two in the mail today, plugged a couple of batteries in and my daughter and I were off. Took it to an old railroad bed where I knew there would plenty of old spikes. First find within minutes was an antique key and of course found plenty of rail spikes. It was very easy to use and the features seem very basic. I was surprised there was no headphone plug-in. My 7 year old daughter had no problem using it. I would recommend this to the newer and younger enthusiasts.
