Kellyco Galleon Hunt by Robert "Frogfoot" Weller
For almost 100 years the location of the Genovesa eluded salvors, including McKee who made five unsuccessful expeditions to the shoals in search of the galleon. On his sixth, and last expedition, in 1979 was a bonanza when his group finally located the wreck, site and recovered treasure.
The Jamaican government put the shoals "off limits" to salvage divers for the next 10years, and the Genovesa became the plum of potential treasure salvors. Only recently has the government begun negotiations to allow salvage on the shoals. Hope, fully, the final chapter of Genoves can soon be written.

The WELLER diving team, "Frogfoot" and Margaret, have been salvaging treasure from the 1715 Spanish Plate Fleet since 1978. Bob, an ex-frogman from the Korean War, has been salvaging in the Florida Keys since 1960. Together they have recovered some great treasures, but their greatest treasure is the friends they have made in the treasure diving community.
Bob is the author of "Sunken Treasure on Florida Reefs", and "Famous Shipwrecks of the Florida Keys."
