7 Spanish Reales Found 4-5 Inches Deep!

Shortly after purchasing my Minelab Sovereign Elite metal detector from KELLYCO in February, I was detecting at Colored Beach, which is just south of the Fort Pierce Inlet in Florida, hoping to find something that was washed up on shore from the documented Spanish Plate Fleet wrecks that were sunk during a hurricane in 1715 between Sebastian Inlet and Fort Pierce.

The beach had recently been eroded from a storm the night before and had left about a 3 foot high cut in the sand at the high tide line. While detecting along this eroded cut line, I found these 7 Spanish reales along with a wedged shaped, slightly concave piece of silver that I believe might be from the edge of a silver plate. In addition to the above, I also found the pictured copper coin size disk that is too thin and corroded to show any detail except for the hint of a raised rim along the outside edge. All of the items were found within 100 feet of each other along the cut bank and buried 4-5 inches deep in the sand. It's hard to describe the thrill that I  got as I continued to find one Spanish real after the other and knowing that I was the first person in 290 years to see and touch these beautiful silver Spanish reales.
