"While
I was finishing up the day on the Treasure Coast, using
Minelab's SD2100 Super Beach Metal Detector, I heard a slight
burble at the weed line on the beach. Cleared a
foot of sand off and signal came through loud and clear.
Another 1-1/2 feet and out comes a 43.8 gram finger bar!
I also found a copper and some wrought iron nails."
Note:
Gold bar was 23.4 karat gold. Almost pure 24 Karat. Called
a "Finger bar" due to the shape of the bar.
Thicker at one end and like a "finger" narrows
towards the other end. Many finger bars were molded
in a hard sand mold or other crude molds made from whatever
natural material was available.
